Just imagine a baby Mitsubishi EVO. It was designed by Mitsubishi's Tama Design Studio located in the western suburbs of Tokyo and built by MIM, a model-maker located near Yokohama city.
Its performance and cockpit design reflect the winning taste of 4-time World Rally champion Tommi Makinen. Mitsubishi says that the CZ-3 Tarmac is a city car, and at the same time it is happy to follow an adrenaline-pumping, high-speed dash over country roads in perfect control.
The CZ3 Tarmac is a high performance derivative of the CZ2. These two concept cars share the same platform, but the CZ-3 Tarmac is powered by a more powerful 1.5-litre GDI turbocharged engine and uses the same all-wheel-drive system as on the Lancer Evolution VII, a road-going rally machine.
We look forward to late 2003 when the production CZ3 hits the streets as the ultimate Japanese hot hatch.
