The 2002 Honda Civic Si, is the latest entry in a long line of quick and fun-to-drive Civics. It's got the power, control and features you'd expect from the car that poineered performance and style on the street.
The Si's taut Euro-sport suspension comes courtesy of its aggressive damper valving, stiffer spring rates and firmer bushings.
Forget about body roll, the Si comes equipped with tuned front and rear stabilizer bars to help maintain tire contact and reduce roll. So now you can concentrate on driving, not bracing.
Take corners with confidence because the Si will stay planted. Thanks to a front toe-control MacPherson strut and rear reactive-link double wishbone suspension, you get handling that's right, linear and stable.
The Si has powerful 4-wheel disc brakes with ventilated rotors in front. The anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) gives braking power to the wheels with the most traction and helps retain steering control during hand brking.
The Si's super-wide powerband lets you bring it on without a break, all the way to its 6800-rpm redline. Given that the Si cranks out 160hp @ 6500 and 132 lb-ft. of torque@5000 rpm, power will never be an issue.
The Si's engine uses chain-driven balance shafts to produce a smooth, quiet power output. This compact design places the balancers in the oil pan.
You won't just feel good in the Si, you'll look good, too. Especially with its sleek and aggresive wedge body, mesh honeycomb grille and rear roofline spoiler. But the good looks don't end there. Add in the dual-tip chrome exhaust finisher and eye-catching new colors and you've got a car that's as fun to look at as it is to drive.
